"Don't Come Around Here No More" was a hit song by Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, released in 1985. The song was written by Petty and Dave Stewart of Eurythmics. It features a psychedelic sound and the distinctive sitar-sounding guitar lick was played on a 12-string Rickenbacker. The lyrics describe a relationship in which the singer tells his partner to stay away from him because he cannot handle the emotional pain anymore. The track was inspired by Alice in Wonderland, with its video featuring a surreal and psychedelic tea party, with Petty dressed as the Mad Hatter and a cake shaped like a woman, that the Hatter dismembers with a knife while a woman is crawling out of it. The song peaked at No.13 on the US Billboard Hot 100 and achieved international success. It remains one of Tom Petty's most popular songs.
